Website visitor counts & privacy

We count visible website page loads and approximate daily browsers using a random first-party cookie that expires at midnight Brisbane time. IDs change each day. Different devices, browsers or site addresses may count separately. These are website counts, not app users or people. A site-wide limit of 100,000 accepted page-load events per Brisbane day bounds storage; counts are marked partial if the limit is reached. Automated or forged events may still distort counts.

Our analytics stores no IP addresses, fingerprints, page addresses, referrers, searches, form values or cross-day profiles. Daily ID hashes are kept for the current Brisbane day and two preceding days; up to 1,000 expired IDs per table are removed whenever a count or owner report is processed, so inactive sites or large backlogs can retain them longer. Daily totals are retained for 400 days and removed on the next count or report. Our Sites/Cloudflare hosting separately retains technical request logs, including IP addresses, country information, request details and processing timings. The visitor-counter opt-out does not stop those operational logs.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track are respected. Blocking cookies or JavaScript can prevent counting. Your opt-out preference is saved in a separate cookie for one year. Opting out applies to this site address and browser and does not affect access to tips or remove already anonymous totals.
